is a multi-disciplinary firm that looks to develop a unique method of design
for each project. The client's desires, program, and site context, are components
used in a process of investigation that captures innovative ideas about organization,
form, light and materiality. A digital design strategy is defined for each
project using technologies in computer modeling and rapid prototyping. The
design strategy provides the means to develop, refine, and communicate the
architecture. Digital models are used for direct CNC fabrication in concert
with both traditional and cutting-edge methods of construction. A project
that combines a unique spatial experience with the composition of materials
and light is the goal for all of the different design processes. sean

was established in San Francisco in 1997 by Sean Ahlquist as a firm focusing
on design, visualization, and experimentation in the field of architecture.
The primary goal for Proces2 is to employ the process of design investigation
as a means to discover new perceptions and realizations of architecture. The
method of investigation takes place within the realm of digital space and
utilizes the latest 3d technologies and software. Within the flexible digital
medium, we have the ability to advance the conceptual, formal, artistic, and
theoretical qualities for each design. By linking our process directly to
digital design technologies, we can evolve our design method as the technology
advances. Proces2 exercises these ideas through a wide range of projects from
conceptual and theoretical works to residential and commercial design and
construction.
